Libby has been exposed to Tremolite Asbestos due to historical mining activity in the area. The EPA and the State of Montana are currently involved in determining the extent of the exposure and actions necessary for clean up.

The TOSC program provided a presentation covering the positive and negative aspects of adding the site to the Superfund National Priority List (NPL). Follow-up visits to the site, assistance with stakeholder communications, and educational materials were also provided.
