Miscanthus Applications Consortium (MAC)

The purpose of the Miscanthus Applications Consortium is to further develop miscanthus science and technology, including applications and uses for miscanthus. One goal is to network and share information on developments, applications and markets for miscanthus. This includes published literature on miscanthus, uses for miscanthus, companies and organizations that are interested in miscanthus, commercial applications, and individuals that are part of the consortium network.

The scope of MAC includes

1. Those working to develop miscanthus genetics and grow miscanthus

2. Those using miscanthus for phytoremediation

3. Those working on the processing of miscanthus into products

4. Those developing products that contain miscanthus

5. Those who are making and marketing commercial products that contain miscanthus

Participating organizations include Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas, Katowice, Poland Jan Evangelista Purkyne University, Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, USA National University of Life and Environment, Kiev, Ukraine University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany

Information on miscanthus includes NATO Project Seminar "Phytotechnology with Biomass Production", January 9-11, 2018, at Kansas State University, sponsored by NATO Project G4687 "New Phytotechnology for Cleaning Contaminated Military Sites"; Consortium for Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability, Kansas State University; and Center for Hazardous Substance Research, Kansas State University.
