Areas of Interest and Experience
Terrie Boguski is the Assistant Technical Director of the Center for Hazardous Substance Research (CHSR). Ms. Boguski’s responsibilities include oversight of a multi-year research program funded by the National Center for Medical Intelligence to assess the environmental health of countries. Ms. Boguski has also provided oversight of several projects to assess environmental compliance and potential future environmental issues for new nonlethal technologies for the Department of Defense, including life cycle environmental assessments (LCEA) of these technologies. As former coordinator for Technical Outreach Services for Communities (TOSC) and Technical Assistance for Brownfields communities (TAB) programs at Kansas State University, Ms. Boguski has many years of experience assisting communities with understanding issues related to contaminated properties, including Superfund, RCRA, DoD, and Brownfields sites. She has managed all program activities, and personally worked with brownfields pilot managers, community advisory groups, city officials, tribal representatives, US EPA, and state agencies. Ms. Boguski has experience in provided training in the Superfund process, brownfields issues, assessment and cleanup technologies, and various environmental regulations.
In addition, Ms. Boguski currently assists communities through the EPA funded Technical Assistance Services for Communities (TASC) under contract to Skeo Solutions. Ms. Boguski also conducts product life cycle assessments and carbon footprints for private companies. For example, she completed a carbon footprint of the National Geographic magazine for National Geographic Society in 2009.
