Areas of Interest and Experience
Daena Blair is the Grants Specialist for the Center for Hazardous Substance Research. Daena has 10 years of experience working with state and federal government and non-profit entities including 6 years with the U.S. Army. Daena serves as the key resource person for all faculty and staff in CHSR and Engineering Extension for proposal development and submissions. She outlines procedures and works with faculty and staff preparing budgets and other forms for the grant proposal making sure they are in compliance with funding agency guidelines. Daena manages cost distribution and expenditures for projects, monitoring sub-receipients, processing overdrafts, project extensions, budget modifications, etc. She reconciles all center accounts, prepares financial reports and is responsible for the HR aspect of the center.
