ITESM (Instituto Technologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey - Mexico) ITESM is a private university founded in the late 1940's focusing on professional programs in engineering, architecture and business. ITESM has a network of campuses throughout Mexico and KSU can send students to Monterrey, Guadalajara, Mazatalan, Quertearo, Mexico City, Cuernavaca, Leon. ITESM in one of the premier universities attracting students from throughout Latin America. Courses are taught in Spanish and KSU students have found ITESM attractive for its intensive language and internship programs. Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine (INPL - France) http://www.inpl.u-nancy.fr/inpl/fr/formation/ecoles.html INPL is a group Gran National Ecoles in Nancy, France, for whom entry is highly competitive and their ranking is at the top of the French academic system. Within INPL are eight ecoles, five of which deal with engineering. Engineering: Ecole de Mines, Ecole de Industries Chimiques, Ecole d'Electricite et de Mechanique, Ecole d'Ingenieurs des techniques de l'Industrie and the Ecole d'Ingenieurs en Genie des Materiaux. Other: Ecole d'Architecture, Ecole d'Agronomie et des Industries Alimentaires, Ecole de Geologie. This exchange was initiated by Prof. Rodney Fox, EECE. In addition, students applying for the program must have minimum of four semester of college-level French and have completed prerequisites needed to attend senior-level courses in their majors. Likewise, those students interested in the work exchange programs should be senior-level students. Czech Technical University (Prague, Czech Republic) Czech Technical University traces its history from 1717 as the Institute of Engineering Education through various transformations, including a major expansion in 1863 as Prague Polytechnic, to emergence as Czech Technical University in 1920. The university enjoys an excellent reputation in Europe, has 6 faculties - Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Science and Physical Engineering, Architecture and Transportation Sciences. In addition it has 6 research institutes within the university. Beginning in 1993 CTU has International its program, attracting students from throughout Europe and has extensive listings of courses taught in English. KSU is sending 10 architecture students to CTU this year. KSU receiving 4 in architecture and 4 in engineering from CTU. The Prospectus (or catalogue) is available in Assistant Dean Tom Roberts' Office. The Nottingham Trent University (Nottingham, UK) Nottingham Trent University, formerly Nottingham Polytechnic, is rapidly evolving institution that combines the strength of the technical with the emerging arts and humanities fields. The engineering curricula include General, Aeronautical, Biomechanical and Biomedical, Chemical and Biochemical, Civil and Structural, Electrical and Electronic, Environmental and Public Health, Mechanical, Minerals and Mining, Manufacturing, Marie, Nuclear, Transport, Control and Systems. Nottingham Trent has as extremely active international program and aggressively recruits from abroad. Nottingham is the traditional haunt of Robin Hood, and the exchange coordinator is a former Sheriff of Nottingham. This exchange is the newest KSU has entered into, recruiting students for the first time for Spring 1997. Deakin is one of Australia's newest universities, founded in 1977 and has grown through merger with several smaller colleges and institutes. Deakin was chosen Australian University of the year several years ago. Located on five campuses around Melbourne area, Deakin has engineering programs in Architecture, Computronics, Environmental, Manufacturing, Mechatronics with the supporting basic scientific fields.
ISEP links KSU to over 1000 universities around the world. Engineering programs taught in English are found in the English speaking countries of UK, Malta, Canada and Australia. Other countries offering courses in English include Finland, Hungary, Sweden, Netherlands - including such places as Helsinki University of Technology.
This exchange network links KSU to some 25 universities throughout Europe. Engineering programs are offered at the University of Antwerp (Belgium), Bochum University (Germany), University of Bologna (Italy), Coimbra University (Portugal), University College, Cork (Ireland), Universite des Sciences et Technologies de Lille (France), University of Lund (Sweden), and the University of Thessaloniki (Greece).
