Dear Steel Ring Alumnus:

 

The 2011-2012 Steel Ring members would like to invite you to the 2012 Engineering Open House on April 20th and 21st.  The theme for this year is “90 Years: The Legend Lives On.”  Open House activities will begin on Friday at 11:30pm with the Opening Ceremonies, including the Parade & Skit competition, and will conclude Saturday evening.  This year we are also encouraging any alumni arriving before the Opening Ceremonies to participate in department activities and walk in the parade.  The annual Steel Ring Alumni Receptions will be a lunch this year on Friday and Saturday from 12:00 to 1:00pm in Carter Learning Center.  Emeritus Faculty will also be invited to attend the lunch. All alumni are more than welcome to come by and browse through the Engineering Open House memorabilia and enjoy the luncheons.

 

The Alumni Committee is continually working to expand our collection of Steel Ring memorabilia.  We would like to thank those of you who have donated items to our archives in the past.  If you have any memorabilia that you would like to display or donate to the archives, we encourage you to do so.  Additionally, we are continuing to build files of all past Steel Ring members and would appreciate it if you could please send or bring us a biographical summary of yourself.  Any information you can provide about other members from your class would also be appreciated.  Finally, we are continuing to compile a list of officers from past Steel Ring classes and would appreciate any information you may provide.

 

Included with this invitation is a list of hotels to assist in making arrangements to attend our 2012 Engineering Open House and Steel Ring Alumni Reception, and the Steel Ring Scoop, which includes highlights of campus happenings.  Please indicate if you plan to attend the Steel Ring Alumni Reception and/ or Open House Banquet on this form and mail it to the address indicated.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact Assistant Dean Roberts at (785)532-5455 or myself at (913)461-1126.  Please do not procrastinate on reserving a place to stay, as it will be a very busy weekend at K-State.  Thanks for your continued support of Steel Ring and the College of Engineering at Kansas State.  We look forward to seeing you in April!
