What is Solar Racing?

Solar raying is an activity in which organizations and individuals design, build and race vehicles that are completely powered by the sun's energy. Some people see solar raying as advancing alternative energy research. Other people see it as an engineering design problem, and then there's people that just see it as pure competition. Some people refer to it as the brain sport of the time. No matter what you call it, solar racing is an exciting, intriguing, and intense sport for anybody.

What is the North American Solar Challenge?

The North American Solar Challenge is a biannual cross-country solar car race open to competitors from around the world. In 2001 and 2003 the race stretched over 2200 miles from Chicago to Los Angeles. The next North American Solar Challenge will be held in July 2005 and will cover an unprecedented 2500 miles from Austin, Texas to Calgary, Canada over eleven days.

What is Formula Sun Grand Prix?

Formula Sun is an annual closed-course solar car race held at Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas. Formula Sun is used as a qualifying event for the North American Solar Challenge and features teams from all over the U.S. and Canada.
