Raleigh, NC to Charlotte, NC: After trailering on day 2, we had more energy than anyone beginning the day. We started today 25th but by the mid-day stop we were in first place. Then about twenty miles outside of mid-day we wrecked. A car cut off the solar car and the front right corner of the solar car collided with her left rear corner. The solar car fairing was destroyed, the front three cells were ruined, and there was some major body damage. The other car also suffered some dents and damage. After 15 minutes, the solar car was again road worthy, but it took another 45 minutes to fill out police reports and talk to Sunrayce officials. During this time, two teams passed us. We began driving slowly to double check the safety of the car. We soon were comfortable with the solar car's handling and began racing again. We were still able to make up enough time to finish the day in 1st place. Charlotte Motor Speedway was cool, and we actually got some good sun that evening and the next morning. Saw some cool Nascar cars.
