- Administers and is responsible for the Budgets and Records Section (BRS) of the Engineering Experiment Station.
- Consults with research faculty in order to advise and give guidance regarding their financial needs for project proposals for extramural funding.
- Reviews research proposals and grants and contracts documents to assure conformity with established university, state and federal laws and policy guidelines.
- After notification is received of award or declination, review grant or contract documents for EES using knowledge of established KSU, state and federal policies to determine compliance and how funds are to be spend and how to satisfy other conditions.
- Implements financial records within EES after receipt of a signed contract or grant.

- Acts on behalf of the Associate Dean for Research/EES Director for the College of Engineering in his absence on EES budget, accounting matters, and internal EES funding policies.
- Prepares information for the yearly budget, maintains a computerized budget/accounting system.
- Compiles special fiscal reports.
- Reconciles EES financial records with the University FRS system and the KSU Foundation accounting records.
- Administers computerized financial records for the EES state accounts and Foundation account.
- Prepares modifications to existing awards, time extensions, budget revisions, and changes in Principal Investigator (PI).
- Provides PreAward assistance to College of Engineering research faculty in submitting proposals to various federal, state, private industry funding sources.
- Assists College of Engineering programmer to design, develop, modify computerized data systems for the EES office.
