The President is responsible for the day-to-day running of the committee, and must know what goes on in a committee and take initiative. However, the President should NOT do all of the work alone. It is the President's role to delegate responsibility to make sure the job gets done.
Criteria: Organized, dependable, responsible, motivated, has demonstrated leadership skills, and willing to dedicate at least 10 hours per week to IAESTE matters.
The JRC is responsible for the job-raising activity of the LC(local committee) and the overall relations with potential host employers. Much like the President, The JRC should NOT do all of the work alone. Again, delegate responsibility to get the job done.
Criteria: responsible, detail oriented, knowledgeable of the IAESTE program (from the perspective of an employer in the United States), strong public speaking skills, professional, and willing to volunteer at least 10 hours per week from September to January. The Job-Raising Coordinator must also continue to be involved in the spring semester and remain in touch with employers.
The Reception Coordinator is in charge of setting up and coordinating the reception program. An LC cannot exist if no one is available for reception service.
Criteria: Friendly, enjoys meeting new people (especially from foreign cultures), living in the local area during the spring and summer, and willing to volunteer 5-10 hours per week, usually starting in February.
This is a vital officer for all LC's. IAESTE is a national membership organization that wants to increase its total number of members. The membership and social chairs often work closely since membership drives are usually linked to social events.
Criteria: organized, dependable, responsible, motivated, interested in meeting new people, should have international experience, and willing to commit 5-10 hours per week to IAESTE.
This officer position is critiacl to the success of the LC. The Treasurer/fundraising chair is not just a number cruncher. It is important to have a creative and organized person to come up with an annual budget and to create a stratagey to raise money to pay for the LC's expenses.
Criteria: excellent organizational skills, detail oreinted, and comfortable with working numbers.
The Social Chair plans events for members, prospective members of the LC, and international interns to interact, network, and have lots of fun
Criteria: outgoing, familiar with the local social scene, creative, willing to volunteer at least 2-5 hours per week, year round depending on what events are taking place.
