Caterina Scoglio, ECE, led a session on epidemiology at the 2013 annual meeting of the DHS Center of Excellence for Emerging and Zoonotic Animal Diseases.
The ECE robotic competition team placed third out of more than 20 teams at the 2013 California Micromouse Competition at the University of California, San Diego. Faculty adviser is Bill Kuhn, ECE professor.
Seven students have been selected as 2013-2014 Phillips 66 SHIELD Scholars: Lacie Falk, James Rittenberger, Kyle Snow and Michael Whinery, CHE; Austin Muchow and Alexander Wu, ME; and Jesse Hill, CMPEN.
Two ECE professors have received endowed appointments—Anil Pahwa was awarded the Logan-Fetterhoof electrical and computer engineering faculty of distinction chair, and Bala Natarajan was awarded the Clair N. Palmer and Sara M. Palmer electrical engineering professorship.
Four engineering students were recognized for high placements in the 15th annual Kansas State University S. Thomas Parker Mathematics Competition. Yang Chen, CS, and Yichao Zhang, CHE, tied for 1st place; and Melissa Coats, CMPEN, and Thomas Marietta, ME, tied for 3rd place.
