Paul J. Malir

Paul Malir received his B.S. in civil engineering from Kansas State University in 1983. He also holds an MBA from the University of Kansas Graduate School of Business, 1992.

Malir is currently the president of TranSystems Corporation, a privately held company that provides consulting services to carriers, shippers, and governmental entities for all modes of transportation.

Malir spent the first part of his career at a Midwest firm that provided airfield design services to small and medium-sized airports. He joined TranSystems Corporation in 1992, where he began an aviation consulting practice for the firm. He subsequently began consulting to other modes of transportation in the mid-1990s. This included providing consulting services to the railroad industry, and freight carriers and shippers in general. Malir was asked to manage the Kansas City headquarters operation of the firm in 1997.

He was named the Midwest regional vice president for TranSystems Corporation in 1998 and served in that role until 2002. In late 2002, he was asked to take on a national operations role that required him to reorganize the firm's office network. In 2003, Malir took on the role of national market sector leader for the federal government business unit. He was named to his current position of president in early 2004.

Malir is active in many professional organizations and currently serves on two national committees of the American Council of Engineering Companies. He also serves as a board member for the Missouri Council of Engineering Companies. He is active in many other civic and charitable organizations in the greater Kansas City area.

He and his wife, Lynn, have two children and reside in Lenexa, Kan.
