Minnesota couple make gift to K-State College of Engineering
David and Ann Braun, St. Paul, Minn., have made a commitment of $35,000 to the College of Engineering at Kansas State University to establish the David and Virginia Braun Innovation Award.
The recipient of this award will be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in the College of Engineering at K-State who is deemed the winner of the Open Class Display based on the judging criteria used during K-State’s All-University Open House. The award aims to increase the students’ awareness of the patent process and enhance their abilities to effectively market and promote their idea or display.
David Braun graduated from K-State in 1967 with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. While at K-State, he was active in marching band. He is retired, but worked as an inventor at 3M Company.
