The Nonlethal Environmental Evaluation &
Remediation Center
The National Environmental
Evaluation and Remediation Consortium created the Nonlethal
Environmental Evaluation and Remediation Center in 2001. Congress
has approved funding for the establishment of the NEER Center
to determine the environmental impact of emerging technologies
related to nonlethal weapons (NLWs). The nonlethal weapons research
and assessment program is sponsored by the joint nonlethal weapons
directorate of the Department of Defense. Since 2003, this effort has been part of the Expeditionary Cababilities Laboratory.
