The City of Springfield has received several U.S. EPA grants for brownfields projects in Jordan Valley Park. Jordan Valley Park is the key element of center city revitalization in Springfield. It covers approximately 250 acres along the Jordan Creek. The concentration of industrial activity in this area has caused both real and perceived environmental problems. The overall goal of the City's brownfields effort is to ensure that contamination does not threaten public health and the environment during and after redevelopment of properties in Jordan Valley Park.
