

Several locations including an abandoned Commercial Property located at 200 Commercial Street, an abandoned Dry Cleaning Facility located at 716 Commercial Street, and the Riverfront Salvage Yard located at 312 South 2nd Street.
The City of Atchison received a brownfields assessment grant from EPA in 2003. The city intends to use grant funds for Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments at several potentially contaminated sites along the Commercial Street Corridor and the riverfront, including an abandoned commercial property, a former dry cleaning facility, and a riverfront salvage yard. Grant funds also will be used for community involvement and redevelopment planning.
