About Concrete Canoe

Brief Synopsis

Officially known as the National Concrete Canoe Competition, it is the premiere collegiate concrete canoe competition.  Creating a canoe that can float is only half the battle.  The other half involves designing, fabricating, building and racing a canoe that is fast, agile and maneuverable; all with concrete!  Do you want to know how this is possible?  If so, attend the next meeting in the basement of Fiedler Hall.

Competition

At the concrete canoe competition, the canoe is judged on aesthetics, speed, and maneuverability.  The team is judged on a technical paper, presentation, and team spirit.  This year’s regional competition will be held at the University of Missouri in Columbia.  One of the most exciting days of the competition is race day.  Teams gather around a local lake to watch and cheer as team members compete in slalom, sprint, long distance, and coed races.  Winners of the regional competition are invited to the national competition
